At Ahnasa, wildlife conservation is a responsibility woven into how we travel and who we choose to partner with. Through every journey our guests take, and with a donation matched by Ahnasa, we support trusted, on-the-ground organisations across East and Southern Africa that protect critical habitats, encourage coexistence between people and wildlife, and create lasting impact.
Together with our travellers, these partnerships help safeguard Africa’s wild places while strengthening the communities that live alongside them — ensuring conservation remains thoughtful, responsible, and deeply human.
The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a role model for conservation.
From a working cattle ranch in colonial Kenya to a trailblazer of conservation innovation – the story of Ol Pejeta is as enchanting as it is inspirational.
Located at the foothills of Mt. Kenya, Ol Pejeta is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, and home to two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhinos. It is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, in a sanctuary established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market. It has some of the highest predator densities in Kenya, and still manages a very successful livestock programme. Ol Pejeta also seeks to support the people living around its borders, to ensure wildlife conservation translates to better education, healthcare and infrastructure for the next generation of wildlife guardians.
At Ahnasa, we believe that luxury travel carries a responsibility—to honour the ecosystems we explore and stand alongside the people who protect them. Our partnership with Wild Survivors Tanzania reflects this commitment. Together, we are helping to shape a future where elephants roam freely, communities thrive, and conservation is community-led, sustainable, and deeply human.
Through our partnership, Ahnasa travellers directly support real change—sustainable livelihoods for families living beside elephant habitats, education for future conservation leaders, and essential tools that allow people and wildlife to thrive together. Because responsible travel must do more than witness beauty. It must protect it.
By travelling with Ahnasa, you become part of a powerful movement — restoring balance, preserving wild spaces, and ensuring that elephants continue their ancient migrations through Tanzania’s landscapes for generations to come.
